A career of singing Opera, Classical, jazz standards and the National Anthem.

Career

Janet Villas was a member of the NY City Opera chorus for 20 years. She has also performed as a soloist with many companies including Opera by the Sea. She is an accomplished soloist in the classical repertoire. She has sung many famous soprano solos at Christ Episcopal Church in Glen Ridge, NJ, including the Faure Pie Jesu, the spiritual Were You There, and Laudate Domine. In addition, she has appeared as both the Soprano and Mezzo soloist in the Bach "Magnificat" with the Grace Choral Society. As a cabaret singer, she performed at Oakeside Cultural Center in Bloomfield,  Don't Tell Mama's and the Ballroom in NYC. Janet has appeared at many community events singing her jazz standards, including several appearances in  the Concert for Life in Provincetown. 

She made 21 appearances singing both the Canadian and American National Anthems for the NY Mets. She's also graced the New Jersey Devils and Jackals with the anthems. In addition, she has opened several NJ statewide celebrations with the anthem, including the Garden State Equality Walk, the Maplewood Domestic Partnership celebration, Jersey City Pride and the Bloomfield Bicentenal Celebration.
